Crosslinking increases the molecular weight of the polymer, resulting in higher temperature resistance, a wider heat-sealing range, reduced sticking to the sealing bars, improved puncture resistance and overall enhanced mechanical properties. In addition, crosslinking increases the polymer’s memory effect, allowing higher shrinkage ratios and improved shrink performance. However, crosslinking also makes the recycling process more complex, and today it can only be carried out through an offline process.
